More than
a decade
of connection.
Shibuki Takakura and Kurofunetei have shared a relationship for more than ten years. At the centre of the restaurant stands a folding-screen work created two and a half years ago.
At the invitation of Chairman Suga, this special event moves beyond simply viewing SHIBUKI ART. Paintings and Tango chirimen stoles will be exhibited, followed by a live creation, lunch, and a gallery talk on how the folding screen came into being, the thoughts within it, and the connections formed through the work.
In the afternoon workshop, participants will create by accepting movements of pigment that cannot be fully controlled. It is not about skill, but about encountering the Shibuki that only you can make. Those who wish may also bring a personal item for Shibuki Takakura to work on during the event.
Whether you already know the work or are encountering it for the first time, we hope you will take time to experience the world of SHIBUKI ART that matters most to the artist today.
