Where does form arise?

We each see the world while preserving the outlines of who we are.

Yet through encounters and relationships, there are moments when those boundaries softly shift.

SHIBUKI ART does not begin by deciding a form. Form emerges through the convergence of people, space and time.

The same is true when viewing it. Rather than understanding, something in the way we feel quietly begins to move.

What remains is the memory of our own perception having changed.

01 / THE ARTIST

Rooted in dye.
Beyond the canvas.

Raised in Tango’s textile tradition, Shibuki Takakura (Kazuhiko Takakura) brings the bodily discipline of kendo into art. His paintings translate colours of light perceived in nature and the cosmos into a practice rooted in Japanese craft and open to the world.

04 / WEAR

Expression doesn’t have
to stay on a wall.

On stage and in everyday life, SHIBUKI moves with the person who carries it. Clothing and objects become individual, living surfaces for expression.

BEYOND THE CANVAS

Anything can
become a canvas.

A vehicle, an object, a space. Scale and material change; the singular gesture remains.
